Come, all who are thirsty!

The Well is a program for churches that have taken the CAT and are ready to strategize based on those learnings.  It is a Cohort model, with new cohorts beginning every spring.  Each cohort of congregations (clergy plus two to three key leaders) participate in year-long workshops and programs that educate, edify and create mutual accountability.  Twice a year longer retreats are offered to allow for more in-depth exploration into how we move forward as God's church.

Is the CAT mandatory for participation in the Well? Yes.  So much of what we are working with is rooted in the CAT that it won't translate well to those congregations that haven't taken the assessment.

What are the workshops like?  We're still paving the road as we walk on it!  Thus far, the workshops have been two-hour meetings of 12 - 20 people who spend time in prayer, learning and conversation.  It's a companionable group of folks, each bring their own knowledge and experience to the table.  We will have expertsfrom time to time - but much of our work together is listening and learning from one another.

And the retreats?  The retreats are open to all operating cohorts (and alumni that need a boost!) and take place in various places near the DMV.

What is the cost for participating?  No cost. From time to time, you may need to provide your own meal, but leadership and materials are all provided thanks to a grant from the PCUSA, as well as money from Unified Mission giving.

How long do we participate?  Each cohort commits to being together for 18 months from the start of the first Fall retreat.

Who coordinates all of this?  The good folks of the Transformation Team (a team of the Congregational Development Committee) provides the leadership, in collaboration with folks from Holy Cow! Consulting.

We did a CAT scan a while ago.  Can we still participate?  Of course!  We have new cohorts forming each fall.  You might want to revisit your VitalSigns prior to attending or schedule another CAT if it's been longer than a couple of years.
